Summary
Visit the Spice Island of Zanzibar – a tropical paradise where turquoise waters meet powdery white sands and the air is rich with the scent of cloves and cinnamon. With all the logistics taken care of, you’re free to explore at your own pace – whether that’s getting lost in the maze-like streets of Stone Town, relaxing on the beach, or joining an included guided spice tour to learn how the island got its name. However you choose to spend your time, Zanzibar is the perfect place to slow down and soak it all in.
Itinerary
Day 1
Stone Town
Jambo! Welcome to Zanzibar, Tanzania – an archipelagic gem known for its idyllic beaches, vibrant markets, and layered history. Once a major hub in the East African slave trade and home to Arabian sultans, its past has shaped a distinctive culture where African, Arab, and European influences converge. With no planned activities today, why not throw yourself into Stone Town’s maze of narrow streets and explore the bazaars, mosques and ruins. Perhaps head to one of the bars on the seafront and soak up the salty ocean air with a cocktail.
Day 2
Zanzibar North Coast
Venture out of Stone Town this morning and drive to the spice plantations for a guided tour to learn all about the history of this town's renowned spice trade. Take the opportunity to touch, smell and taste various spices – such as cinnamon, vanilla and ginger – then sample some delicious teas! After lunch, head to the northern beaches, where white sands and blue seas await. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure – this is the Indian Ocean at its best.
Day 3
Zanzibar North Coast
Ease into the day with the sound of gentle waves and soft ocean breezes. With a full day free to enjoy Zanzibar’s coastline, you might choose to take a refreshing swim, stretch out on the beach beneath the palms, or savour the flavours of the island with a fresh seafood dinner by the water. However you spend it, today is all about slowing down and letting the rhythm of island life take over.
Day 4
Zanzibar North Coast
Today, you’ll transfer from the resort to Zanzibar Airport for your departure flight and the end of your beach break. If you’d like to extend your stay, just speak to your booking agent ahead of time.

Not worth it if you're a solo traveller.
Samantha Feb, 2026 VerifiedA great experience of the East African landscapes! In a slick operation, we camped in the Serengeti, stayed at an old hotel in the lush and craggy Usembara mountains, then got a ferry to ancient Stone Town with its bustling bazaars
